Designs for Health supports a whole food approach to eating and sees the benefit in reducing refined carbohydrates for optimal health. We incorporated Whole Body Collagen in this bread recipe to boost the protein content and change the way you look at sliced bread. Each serving of Grain-Free Collagen Bread contains 6g of protein and 1g of net carbohydrates!
Set the oven at 375 degrees. In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs together and set aside. In a separate bowl, combine Whole Body Collagen, almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk, baking powder and baking soda; mix well. Slowly add dry ingredients to the whisked egg and continue mixing until well combined. You will notice that the mixture will tighten, at that point add the warm water to the batter and mix well. Then transfer batter to a loaf pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Let loaf completely cool before slicing. Bread can be stored in the fridge for one week or one month if frozen.
